I am retired and spent my working life on controls improving efficiency. My boiler was selected [45yrs ago]. Being a Yorkshire man it has returned good value in its application. No available boilers could match the failing unit. Faceless energy saving is no answer to real engineer saving their own money

Informative clearly written advice on people like myself who do not have experience with condesner boiler systems. I have a new condenser boiler ( fitted in February 2007 and guarantee checked by Corgie Engineer February 2008. I have it insured for emergency breakdown and now considering an annual service contract. Any advice or tips on the need for such a contract over and above the emergency breakdown insurance contract, which is a first class one ? I would be oblidged if you could reply to this enquiry as I am a Senior Citizen aged 79 and need to be careful expense-wise. R.A.MacDonald Snr
