In response to your recent piece, “The Salami Olympics” (28 May, page 54), the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) has, since the very start of the project, been aware of the potential exposure to fraud of large construction projects

We conducted fraud risk assessments in 2007 at the start of our procurement activities and subsequently put in place a comprehensive anti-fraud system including anti-fraud training for staff, strong governance led from the top, an anti-fraud policy clearly setting out individuals’ responsibilities and regular internal audits. Although this approach is working well across the ODA we are well aware of the need to remain vigilant as we approach the final phase of the project.
