There is now, thanks to a piece by Andrew Gilligan in The Telegraph, a name for this sort of “it’s your own fault if you didn’t respond” government activity. It is a “nonsultation”. For the future, it looks as if the previous government’s agreement with our industry to allow time for changes to the rules to be considered is part of the “bonfire of regulation”.
