Building’s email newsletters are becoming magazines in their own right, brimming with edited highlights of the week’s news and loads of other stuff besides. Alex Smith is your virtual postman

Online readers struggling to keep tabs on the avalanche of new information on sustainability were given a helping hand this week with the launch of Building’s sustainability newsletter.

This is the first in a series of newsletters that target sectors of the construction industry. As well as sustainability, they will cover housebuilding, health and safety, and legal and technical matters.

Newsletters are becoming online magazines in their own right, filled as they are with the previous weeks’ highlights and introduced by an expert who directs readers to the really important, need-to-know information.

“Aggregation” is the word for the reorganisation of stories in an understandable, structured way. As well as rounding up the best of Building’s editorial, the newsletters will also present exclusive material unavailable elsewhere.

In future issues of the sustainability newsletter look out for the best of the new sustainability products designed to make zero-carbon buildings a realistic goal, and our new blog by the Reverend Green, who will be preaching the sustainability gospel on a regular basis.

Please let us know what you think of the newsletters and any suggestions as to how they could be improved are very welcome.

You can sign up to newsletters at www.building.co.uk/newsletters. The timetable for deliveries is as follows:

  • Technical/sustainability – alternate Mondays
  • Legal – alternate Tuesdays
  • Health and safety – alternate Thursdays
  • Housing – alternate Wednesdays.
