Regarding the fact that the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) is to be axed and its responsibilities reallocated to local authorities (18 March, building.co.uk), I think this shift in emphasis is a good idea.

This new approach will be much better managed and will deliver better results. The LSC was too remote from the real need. It was much better at statistics and reports than actual delivery. As a pensioner involved in adult business education I wish this new approach much success.
