In reply to your piece on the Peabody Trust and prefabrication, we have to move away from the chaos of a construction site towards the relative order of a factory.
Great strides have been made in off-site manufacture for major building projects over the past few decades and, in terms of housing, nothing could be simpler. There is no reason whatsoever why a good deal more could not be done, apart, of course, from the dyed-in-the-wool attitudes towards housing needs that prevail. It seems that we just don't have the strength to drag our muddy boots out of the "traditional" morass that we appear to love wallowing in.
