I was interested to read what Ann Minogue had to say concerning lawyers who represent parties in adjudication (22 January, page 51)

Her observations of how lawyers operate is a poor reflection on her profession.

The hallmark of a good professional is that they act in the client’s best interests by ensuring that they receive good value for money. Lawyers who indulge in pointless jurisdictional and procedural wrangling can hardly claim to be doing that. One can but praise Ann for her honesty.
