A former Barratt Homes MD has become chair of the board for Lambeth council’s development company.

Homes for Lambeth is comprised of three companies, all wholly owned by the council, which carry out construction, development and management function.

Now Richard Reynolds has been appointed group chair of development arm Homes for Lambeth Homes and Build.

Reynolds (pictured) was a managing director at Barratt for 25 years, working at Barratt London, Barratt Urban Construction and Barratt St Paul’s.

Reynolds has held a string of chairing roles, including at Redrow Homes London, Orbit Homes 2020, Alwyck Housing Group and Weald Property Developments.

Before working at Barratt he held senior executive positions with Alfred McAlpine and Wates.

Homes for Lambeth is taking on its first tenants at Lollard Street, Kennington, in the next few months after the housing built by Canary Wharf group was secured as part of a section 106 deal.

In 2019 Homes for Lambeth will also start construction work at South Lambeth and Knight’s Walk, as well as work on plans to rebuild three estates: Central Hill, Cressingham Gardens and the remainder of Fenwick.
