Balfour Beatty has said it is on track to hit its financial targets this year.

The country’s biggest contractor, which will hold its AGM in central London later today, said it had performed as expected since January.

In its results for the year to 31 December 2018, which were announced in March, Balfour Beatty turned in an improved set of numbers last year which saw it hit its margins targets.

Last year its UK construction arm saw revenue slip 5% to £1.9bn with underlying profit up £12m to £28m while margins for the year doubled to 1.8%.

It is due to announce its interim results on 14 August.
