The pandemic has accelerated long term changes in M&A priorities including a greater focus on environmental, social and governance issues

Like so many industries, the coronavirus pandemic has had a seismic impact on the mergers and acquisitions (M&A) market. And while overall deal volume rebounded during the first quarter of 2021, it’s fair to say that covid-19 has accelerated a long-term change in the market’s approach. Investors are now interested in opportunities they might not have been a year ago, and the deals they once looked upon favourably are no longer seen as valid options.
