Public sector spend on new build and refurbishment of schools and hospitals is set to grow into 2008, according to recently published reports from AMA Research.
By 2010 the government aims to have 100 additional large hospital schemes, and a proposed cumulative capital spend of £11 billion. This is alongside plans for a new generation of diagnostic and treatment centres, and a projected £4.2 billion of PFI investments.
The education sector looks equally buoyant. Capital spend in this area will rise from £3.85 billion in 2004-05, to £6.78 billion in 2007-08. The Church of England has also announced a £100 million pilot programme to update its school estate.
The reports cost £565 each. For more information see the web site www.amaresearch.co.uk
