As a small practitioner we always (or mostly) refer to the RICS scale and state what discount we apply.

We also offer a full service complete with bills of quantities.

Apparently we are a rare breed.

Fortunately most of our clients want and appreciate a traditional service - although some insist on making do with lesser input.

Having said that, we do not often win fee bids largely (I would suggest) because the brief does not demand a traditional service.
