Halcrow Yolles has designed the services for a mixed-use development in Accra, said to include the tallest building in west Africa.

The Villaggio scheme consists of three blocks of apartments plus office and commercial space. The buildings will be constructed in concrete to give a high thermal mass to increase the time lag for cooling demand. Solar shading has been incorporated into the architecture of the building, as was a high performance facade and glazing systems which respond to solar exposure and the sun’s path.
