India, China and the US joined other nations in accepting that there is broad scientific evidence of potentially harmful climate change. The agreement was made at the G8 summit meeting held last month in L’Aquilla, Italy. The G8 leaders agreed to the temperature limit after failing to win agreement from developing countries for a more far-reaching target of cutting carbon emissions by 2050.
