Although 70% of staff put good pay at the top of their list of most important factors, it is often other issues such as reasonable hours and a good benefits package, that – although not cited at exit interviews as reasons for leaving – contribute nonetheless. We have introduced flexible working, career counselling and flexible holidays for our staff. Already, we’re seeing benefits: a positive, more motivated workforce, reduced sickness and absence and reduced staff turnover.
