It’s not often that a builder downs his shovel to pick up a pen and put his thoughts to paper, so we were intrigued to receive this novel by newcomer Gary Davison who owns a small construction company in Newcastle.

‘I got the idea for Fat Tuesday when I was standing in Asda, day dreaming, listening to the tills ringing, when I thought: how good would it feel to rob the place? And the story just grew from there,’ he says.

While we wouldn’t encourage people to get involved in such activities, we would encourage them to read this book, which incorporates enough sex, drugs and violence to satisfy the closet maniacs among us.
