Salespeople now have the difficult task of encouraging homeowners to replace their outdated, but often ‘adequately’ performing PVC-U door with the latest product offering, composite doors.

The product has significant advances in strength, looks and styles and has so far proved popular with customers, says Shepley. And, to ensure they profit from this growth market, Shepley can now offer a direct mailer to promote the range.

The new four page leaftet aims to underline the position of composites as an upmarket, natural substitute for first generation PVC-U doors installed in the past. The mailer was originally developed for a Shepley customer who has seen sales for composite doors grow dramatically since they first started to use the item. Surprisingly, a knock on effect has also been seen in add-on sales of PVC-U windows.

Other Shepley composite door sales tools are a 20 page brochure, as well as a CD-Rom full of product news, retail press release, promotional images and in-store POS.

Shepley doors are available on a three week turnaround.

Main advantages

Tim Walker, Shepley’s sales director, comments ‘The main advantage of the Shepley composite door over other doors on the market, is that the skin on our coloured composites is made from a modified polycarbonate blend – the type of which is used to make helmet visors and police riot shields.

‘This skin also offers greater thermal and UV stability than either ABS or PVC, meaning Shepley can confidently offer a black composite door complete with a 10-year guarantee.’
