Contractor will build Hilton hotel overlooking the famous Old Trafford cricket ground

Old Trafford hotel

Galliford Try has been selected by Lancashire County Cricket Club to build a £12m Hilton hotel overlooking the world famous Old Trafford cricket ground.

The 150-bedroom four star hotel will replace the existing Old Trafford Lodge, and mirrors the design of The Point, which sits on the other side of the Pavilion. It will include a restaurant, bar, the Pavilion Pantry serving all-day snacks, and a fitness centre.

The scheme was designed by Glasgow-based architects ICA.

Galliford Try previously constructed the high-profile Hotel Football at the other Old Trafford in 2015.

Jim Parker, managing director for Galliford Try Building North West, said: “We are delighted to have been selected for this high-profile project at such a significant landmark for Trafford Borough and the North West. Our expertise in both the hotel and sports stadia sectors has put us ahead of the competition this time and we look forward to working with Lancashire County Cricket Club to produce top-class facilities and further enhance this iconic ground.”
