Education charity is recruiting design professionals to inspire a love of architecture among young people

Architecture education charity Open House is seeking architects to help with its primary school programme.

The charity’s Junior Open House project, available free to eight to 11-year-olds, brings children into contact with key pieces of London architecture through “building explorations”, which are then followed by creative workshops in the classroom.

Participating architects will attend a two-hour evening training session before leading a half-day building exploration and then a half-day practical workshop session in May.

The focus this year will be on sustainable sports buildings, but other contemporary examples of London’s architecture will be included. Architects helping with the programme can also suggest a building to visit.
