Network Rail and Thames Water are still battling to clear flood water from railway tunnels in central London after a water main burst on Friday.

The leak, on the Thameslink line between Farringdon and London St Pancras International, continued to flood the tunnels throughout Saturday and into Sunday. The water rose to about 1m deep and there is the risk that there has been damage to the safety equipment and infrastructure.

The affected part of the line will be closed until at least the end of Monday. A reduced service is in place on other parts of the Thameslink route.
