Commemorative postage stamps will feature key London and Beijing landmarks as Olympic flag is handed over

The London Eye is among landmarks to be honoured on a set of postage stamps issued to mark the handover of the Olympic flag from Beijing to London.

A set of four stamps, jointly issued by the Royal Mail and China Post, will feature landmarks from both the UK and the Chinese capitals, including the Bird's Nest Stadium, the Corner Tower of the Forbidden City - which was home to China's emperors for five centuries - and the Tower of London.

The series is designed to celebrate the old and new structures in each city, and will be issued to commemorate the handover of the Olympic flag at the closing ceremony on 24 August.
