Comment

"Ferrous" means a metal containing iron, so can only be used to describe the various types of iron, and alloys such as mild steel, stainless steel etc.

Copper, lead, tin, brass, bronze, and aluminium contain no iron, and are therefore non-ferrous metals. If the article intended to refer to magnetic metals, the most common are iron, nickel, and cobalt. Copper and aluminium etc. are just valuable.
