Tallest tower would be double the height of the current tallest buildign in Africa

Plans for a scheme which would be the tallest building in Africa, have been unveiled by Tshwane Metroplitan Council in South Africa.

The plan for Centurion Symbio-City, designed by local practice Architects@126, involves three towers the tallest of which would be 110 storeys high - over double the size of Africa’s current tallest building and higher than the empire state building.

The mixed-use scheme would feature residential units, office space, retail facilities and a hotel.

The development is slated to be on Centurion Lake in Pretoria, near Johannesburg.

The scheme is yet to be submitted for planning permission.
