It’s Clothes Off and Lift Off for the 100 Days campaign…

Organisations who have signed up to the 100 Days Campaign are taking the opportunity to get involved in the special themed days and increase their carbon saving.

At the time of going to print, the campaign was gearing up for Clothes Off week, aimed at reducing reliance on traditional cooling systems. The themed week gives organisations a chance to try out a more appropriate summer dress code and to encourage staff to contribute their own ideas on how to make the workplace more comfortable for everyone.

As well as focusing on the different ways that clothes can keep you cool, companies are encouraged to look at how they can utilise the natural ventilation systems within their buildings and take a more flexible approach to determining the typical office temperature.

The next themed day is Lift Off! day, taking place in mid August, which encourages people to use the stairs within the workplace instead of relying on lifts. By shutting down at least one of their lifts, organisations can help to lower carbon emissions and therefore count towards the 100 Days of Carbon Clean-up campaign.

As well as the themed days, CIBSE is planning two events, focusing on sustainable cooling and green lifts, to provide organisations with more advice and information on implementing long-term energy saving solutions.
