Bowater Windows has notched up its 1,000th completion for Medina Housing Association on the Isle of Wight. To celebrate the occasion, the home’s resident and her neighbours met up with staff from Medina and Bowater Windows for a special tea party. David Allsopp, Chief Executive of the Bowater Windows Division presented the resident, Mrs Gibson, with a bouquet, and a new bird–bath was also donated by the company for the home’s patio area.
The house is located at Gobles Close, Ryde, and is a part of a sheltered housing scheme.
The partnership between Bowater Windows and Medina Housing Association dates back to 2002. Then, the housing association’s tenants played a key role in setting up the partnership. The tenants’ elected committee met Bowater and Medina as equal partners at an initial discussion meeting, and the three–way partnership has gone from strength to strength ever since.
Commenting on the relationship, Medina Housing Association’s Project Manager, Anthony Wright, says:
‘We have enjoyed outstanding levels of tenant satisfaction, thanks to the service Bowater Windows has been offering us. Quite clearly, this is a real example of where the company’s partnership approach to working with the public sector is paying off.’
Medina Housing Association expects Bowater Windows to complete a further 300 of its households in 2005. The refurbishments are part of the housing association’s £2.9 million a year maintenance and improvement programme.
The System 10 windows used in the programme are detailed in Bowater Windows’ Customer Care brochure, which includes a code of practice for working whilst tenants in occupation.
