North Shields-based CCTV and security specialist 2020 Vision has implemented a new tool to help manage its workload.
The ‘CASH for Windows’ facility is designed so that the company’s staff and customers are able to benefit from ‘cradle to grave’ information on installations.
The company believes this will speed response times and create more efficient maintenance cycles. The system has been designed for the security industry and acts as a tool for providing detailed structured services to customers.
The ‘CASH for Windows’ database system will control all business activities in two main parts: installation, and service and maintenance. All engineers at the company have been provided with mobile PDA devices, which are linked to 2020’s call centre via the database, to improve the efficiency of engineer call-outs and enhance communication between the company and its customers.
2020 Vision believes the system will reduce paperwork, as all information can be inputted into the system, which will run in ‘real time’. Office tasks will be replaced with detailed computerised messages to customers and text messages sent to engineers’ PDAs.
