Baxall has won a substantial contract to supply its Destiny-IP software to Caltrans, the State of California Department of Transport.
Caltrans installed 430 CCTV cameras along the entire 15,000 mile California State Highway System in order to monitor road conditions and control traffic signal timing, via its Automatic Traffic Management System (ATMS).

To monitor and control cameras cost-effectively from any number of control points, it needed a solution that would allow it to transmit real-time, digital video, audio and data across an ethernet network.

Baxall's Destiny-IP Codes convert camera signals into compressed data, which can be transmitted over an IP compatible network. A substantial number of both single and dual encoders and decoders have been installed for Caltrans allowing a flexible and cost-effective solution.

Multiple operators can view the same image simultaneously from numerous locations and the entire installation needs no additional cabling by using existing Ethernet.
