The A&E Department at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee – part of the Tayside University Hospitals NHS Trust – is now a safer place thanks to the installation of a Photo-Scan CCTV system.
Following a series of attacks on doctors and nurses, the cameras have been strategically located within the A&E Department's public areas, as well as the treatment and radiographer's rooms. Cameras can be brought online as and when staff feel threatened.
The treatment and radiographer's rooms have been fitted with fixed 'open' cameras, the resulting images being monitored from a dedicated, manned control station.
