We keep hearing all this nonsense [about global warming] from doomsayers.
“It’s all based on our computer modelling,” they tell us. Computer modelling has more aptly been termed “Ouija board science”. When it comes to climate change, it uses partial data to transform flawed hypotheses into reality. There is no wonder 18,000 scientists have now signed the Oregon Petition, which declares global warming a lie with no scientific basis whatsoever (see www.sitewave.net).
The fact is that in some parts of the polar regions the ice is actually spreading. Glaciers on the Svalbard archipelago, recently visited by Tory leader David Cameron (dog-sled and all), are not disappearing, but surging forward. And in Iceland, despite all the geothermal activity, glaciers in Myrdalsjokull are now covering land that sheep were grazing on 40 years ago. You are unlikely to read any of this in the papers, however.
Professional engineers are supposed to be logical-thinking individuals, of independent mind. We should not allow ourselves to be duped by the “global warming” spin.
