All chartered building companies and consultants will be pressured to register their sites with the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) in plans being considered by the CIOB. “It will help us in benchmarking our members’ performance against non-Chartered companies,” said Clive Benfield, chair of the CIOB’s Chartered Building Company and Consultancy Board. Under the scheme, companies register their sites for a fee. Assessors rate them on issues like tidiness, safety and requirements for CSCS cards. The sites display a hotline, which the public can call to make a complaint.
