The home of the Supreme Courts of Scotland – Parliament House – is scheduled to house one of the largest radio-based fire/voice evacuation systems ever installed.
The Radio Fire & Voice Evacuation System by EMS will consist of multiple controllers, which will communicate to over 1200 detectors and 300 speakers.
The system was chosen for its flexibility and lack of cabling – a principal concern as the building's historic features had to be conserved and complemented.
Fire Management Scotland (FMS) will install the system during a 12-year rolling refurbishment programme. The Dinardo Partnership is the project's consulting engineer.
