Bradley Lomas Electrolok has completed several new security installations at the University of Exeter.
At the heart of each project is a technically-advanced access control system developed by Assa, which has been installed to serve both the Amory and Harrison buildings plus the Peninsular Medical School at St Lukes Campus.
The Assa system works on both swipe and PIN controls, and makes full use of the Lantronix MSS1-T – a multi-protocol micro serial server that provides Ethernet connections for computers, terminals and modems.
System installation was preceded by the gradual implementation of more than 30 controllers – linked via a WAN – across 12 of the University's sites.
The entire system now boasts a capacity of 50,000 cards. With student cards now also providing ID, extra control has been made available on who is allowed to go where and when.
