Bedford based CCTV installer Ace Security Systems, has taken its business to a higher level since buying a hydraulic work platform.
The 11 year old family-owned business has grown to become a significant regional company and has opened a second sales centre in Letchworth, Herts.

Ace was awarded a number of major CCTV installations including maintenance of all the cameras in Bedford town centre. They hired trailer- mounted boom lifts, but the trailers were difficult to manoeuvre and equipment was not always available when needed. It also meant sending out two people every time.

To save on costs, Ace bought a used Ford Transit van allowing transport of bulky camera housings and got Versalift (01536 721111) to mount a Eurotel Telescopic boom platform on it. Versalift has only two stabilisers and is capable of being set up from the driver's seat before leaving the cab. Although the ET27NE platform has a 9.8m working height, it telescopes for travelling.

Says Kevin Burraway, Ace MD: "We can perform many maintenance tasks with just one person … and offer our customers immediate response around the clock without having to wait for a hire company to have a machine available. "
