acquisition: Mowlem mops up Pall Mall

Pall Mall will operate alongside Mowlem's facilities management company Aqumen, under its existing management team headed by managing director David Woods.

'With Aqumen and Pall Mall operating in parallel, Mowlem can now propose a full spectrum of integrated solutions to a wider range of customers,' said Aqumen managing director Jack McGory.

Since shedding its SGB scaffolding business last year, Mowlem has been looking for an acquisition that would enable the company to maintain a better balance within its portfolio between construction and support services.

Mowlem expects the deal to be earnings enhancing by 2002.
