Danish support giant ISS acquires five more companies across Europe
Danish support services company ISS has continued along the acquisition trail, swallowing five companies across Europe in just over a week. It has bought companies in France, Germany, Denmark and Finland for a total of £100m.

ISS has acquired more than 98 per cent of the shares in French firm Groupe Miege, a move that bolsters the Danish company's leading position in Europe's second biggest facilities market. Groupe Miege predominantly provides heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) services.

The deal complements ISS's purchase of French landscaping provider Compagnie Generale Espace Verts in July this year. At the end of September,ISS acquired landscaping provider Franche Comte Foret, strengthening the Danish firm's grip on landscaping services in France.

'One of our goals is to offer customers advanced facility service contracts, and landscaping has in France become a significant step in that direction,' said ISS managing director Flemming Schandorff.

In Germany, ISS swallowed aircraft cleaning company Kleesattel, which provides services at Germany's second largest airport in Munich. The company provides interior aircraft cleaning services and exterior cleaning including cabin dressing, de-icing and waste management.

At home, ISS acquired specialist glazier Jan Kolster and cleaning company ERS Rengoring, which will strengthens the ISS Food Services division.
