The industry has until 21 June to respond to the government’s proposed changes to the Construction Act, which carries several “bold” moves, according to Sir Michael Latham, who carried out a review of the Act last year.
Among the changes proposed are:
- Adjudicators will have the power to rule on their own jurisdiction;
- Contractors will have the right to reimbursement for suspended work;
- An adjudicator will be able to overturn interim payment decisions.
