ECA Education and Training has developed a scheme for operatives ineligible for apprenticeships through the normal channels to achieve NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Services Buildings and Structures.

The scheme is available nationally to those who wish to obtain formal recognition of their experience and demonstrate competence. The industry-recognised NVQ Level 3 qualification can be used to obtain the electrician's Electrotechnical Certification Scheme (ECS) card.
