Air tightness testing – a guide for clients and contractors begins by looking at the reasons why an airtight building is such an important area in modern design. The guide talks about the impact the revised Part L of the Building Regulations will have on approaches to designing an airtight building. Quality in construction is discussed and explanations for the differences in building performances are given. There is also a section on the benefits of thermography (thermal imaging).
The final chapter is a checklist that can be referred to during the design process. It highlights all the major areas of building construction that should be given special attention if air leakage is to be minimised.
