Engineers from Alstom Network Services keep Elvis show on the road.
Punters singing along to the recent production of Elvis The Musical at Manchester's Palace Theatre should give a warm round of applause for the part played by engineers from Alstom's Network Services unit.
The engineers helped keep the show on the road when the curtain finally came down on the famous theatre's power transformer, which gave up the ghost after more than 40 years of service.
As the cast played to packed audiences out front, the team from Alstom worked back of house on the installation of a new 1000 kVA transformer, while a temporary generator stepped in as understudy to bring power to the stage and all the public areas. I wonder if there were any suspicious minds?
