The 19 arm's-length management organisations that won funding from the government have split into unofficial regional groups.
Hounslow and Westminster ALMOs are holding monthly meetings in London along with others from the region. Leeds and Kirklees are meeting regularly in Yorkshire, while Salford and Oldham are sharing ideas in the North-west.

The successful round one and round two bidders have put plans for a national trade body on the back burner for the time being.

Kensington and Chelsea tenants' management organisation chief executive Gordon Perry said: "We're still keen to develop a national trade body, but regional bodies work better just now." He added that at a meeting with the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister last month, ALMO representatives pressed for assurances that the government would ease the controversial requirement for an ALMO to have a rating of three stars before all its funding is released.
