The UK's first integrated building management system has been installed at Belfast's £91 million Odyssey Centre, making effective use of Honeywell's Enterprise Buildings Integrator (EBI) to provide seamless 'single window' access to security, access control, fire and building energy management systems.

In all, there are three control rooms covering the sports and leisure complex, with Ballymena-based contractor JB Electrical appointing the Diamond Systems Group to integrate all CCTV and access control systems as well as the fire management operation. In use, Honeywell's Security Manager system allows operators to control and monitor access and security throughout the main Odyssey complex. It provides a centralised alarm monitoring function, and allows for cardholder management.

Overall, there are 60 access control points with card readers, numerous movement detectors and over 100 door alarm contacts. Almost 100 CCTV cameras have been installed, being mainly full-function PTZ domes.

Meantime, Honeywell's LineSafety Manager provides primary monitoring and full control of all smoke and fire detection systems.
