Grundfos Pumps Ltd is a UK leader of pump and pump systems for domestic, commercial building services, process engineering, fire protection systems and are a major supplier to the water supply and treatment industries. It is part of the Grundfos Group who employs over 11,000 people in 43 countries and has an annual turnover of some £1billion. Originally founded in Denmark in 1945, the Group produces some 10 million pumps per year.
As a diverse global multi-national, we provide an enormous range of solutions such as supplying drinking water to an Antarctic expedition, irrigation to Dutch bulb fields, groundwater monitoring beneath waste heaps in Germany, to air-conditioning in Egyptian hotels.
The UK Commercial Building Services arm has continued to grow from strength to strength. This has partly been fuelled by the strategic launch of new and extended ranges, specifically designed to support this area. These include:
MAGNA - A notable world 'first'. Grundfos is the first company in the world to utilise permanent magnetic motor technology in the new UPE range of circulator pumps. One the many benefits of using this pump means that up to 60% energy savings can be achieved.
CRE/CRNE - This popular range of vertical multistage variable speed pumps has been extended and can now incorporates up to 22kW MGE motors. This range can be offered with or without a sensor.
The complete Grundfos portfolio incorporates solutions for:
- Heating and hot water systems
Add to this the fact that the majority of the standard product range of pumps can be supplied with EFF1 motors, which offer: improved efficiency, better partial load, low noise, prolonged insulation, possible higher ambient temperature, prolonged bearing lifetime, less ambient cooling and the all important factor, to end users, of reduced operating costs.
These motors are also DETR approved and therefore qualify for full Enhanced Capital Allowance.
Research and Development
Grundfos places a great deal of emphasis on client-orientated research and development. Customers are consulted during the development of new products and the re-development of established products, to ensure that solutions are being delivered against real requirements.
Corporate Values
The ethos if the Grundfos Group is based around core values of sustainability, openness, trustworthiness, responsibility and partnership, not only with clients and suppliers, but also with the broader community.
HVAC APPLICATIONS AND GRUNDFOS
There are increasingly more factors to consider when looking at specifying any HVAC system. Not only has the pump solution itself got to be optimum, taking into account the application demands, but increasingly other factors are taking on a greater significance.
The Climate Change Levy has had a significant effect on the industry. End users are now more educated in terms of understanding the impact that variable speed pumps can have on their utility bills, as well as the resultant environmental impact.
Life Cycle Costs (the cost of ownership from purchase through to disposal), are becoming a more major factor. Which is not surprising given the initial cost of the pump represents 5-8%, of the total cost. With maintenance at 2-5%, the remaining 90% is all accounted for with energy costs.
We are now offering you the opportunity to speak to one of our experts, who have years of experience between them, with your particular HVAC query.
