Dedicated Micros has restructured its marketing and promotional division as part of an aggressive marketing drive for the second half of 2001. Nicola O'Dwyer has taken up the reins as marketing manager at DM, leading a team of eight UK and one US-based communications and product marketing specialists. Reporting directly to Nicola are Pauline Norstrom – in her new role as communications strategy manager – and dedicated product marketing manager Karl Haw.
Mike Hawker has joined the board at Smartwater (Europe) – the developer of next-generation liquid forensic coding systems for property marking – as a non-executive director. For many years, Mike was the managing director of Modern Security Systems, later becoming its chairman and, latterly, chief executive officer of parent company Automated Security (Holdings).
CCTV specialist VCL has promoted marketing manager Nick Bowden to international marketing manager. Nick has been in charge of the group's UK marketing activities since 1999. His role in the UK marketing of VCL's products will continue, with the backing of a revised team including newly-appointed marketing assistant Joanna Lambe.
Continued growth has led security uniform supplier Prima Corporate Wear to add to its management team with the appointment of Carol Morgan as customer care manager. Carol will act as the first point of contact for all customer-related queries.
DespatchBox – the leading software company specialising in applications that enable companies to use e-mail for confidential business information – has appointed Ian Miles as commercial director.
