Adrian Powell has been appointed to manned guarding contractor Anchor Security Services as business director. Adrian boasts over 18 years' experience in the sector, having previously worked for Galago as UK and Northern Ireland operations director.
The Ministry of Defence (MoD) and QinetiQ have announced that Sir John Egan has stepped down as chairman of the QinetiQ Group plc (formerly the major part of the MoD's Defence Evaluation and Research Agency). Sir John has now decided to take on the presidency at the Confederation of British Industry. Dame Pauline Neville-Jones has agreed to fill Sir John's previous role.
CCTV specialist VCL welcomes Phil Tennent as national sales manager. Phil is tasked with developing sales in areas of new technology, as well as ensuring the continued success of VCL's Microsphere cameras. Phil was previously UK sales manager at digital recording concern Nice Vision.
UTP video transmission products specialist Network Video Technologies (NVT) has a new managing director. Wesley Harper – formerly the company's sales director – was largely responsible for setting up NVT in the UK.

Part of his brief is to understand the needs and concerns of end users so that the company can continue to develop new solutions aimed at protecting staff from violent attacks at work.
Intamac Europe – the Northampton-based Internet company – has appointed Keith Hobbs (ex-chief executive officer of Protection One and chairman of Britannia Security) as chairman. The company offers an Internet-based alarm monitoring and messaging service for end users.
