Patricia Knights, managing director of Receptors Security Systems (UK), has become the first female to be appointed chairman of ASIS International's UK Chapter 208. Patricia already serves on both the Council and the Validation Board of The Security Institute, and in her new role succeeds Bank of England security manager Bill Wyllie (who steps down as Chapter 208 chairman after two years' service). Deutsche Bank security director Chris Smith has been replaced as 208 vice-chairman by Peter French, managing director at security recruitment specialist SSR Personnel.

Sir Robert Horton has succeeded Roger Carr as chairman of security company Chubb plc. The company has also announced the appointment of John Roques to the Board as a non-executive director. Roques is currently chairman of the Portman Building Society and a non-executive director of the BBA Group and Premier Farnell.

Tim Gregory has been appointed managing director of access control solutions provider PAC International. Following a two-year absence, the move represents a welcome return to the Stockport-based manufacturer for Tim, who spent ten years with the company (most recently acting as sales and marketing director). He left in 2000 to fulfil a Group role as director of business development at PAC's parent company Blick plc.

Manned security contractor Securiplan has responded to a 60% growth in business last year by increasing its operations team. Donna Alexander joins as regional operations manager for the inner M25 area. Donna joins from WorldCom, where she was physical security advisor. Chris Palmer has been overseeing Securiplan's new contract start-ups as national projects manager – he is succeeded by Giles Clark, who joins from Reliance Security Services – but now takes on responsibility for corporate clients in the Midlands and M1 corridor. Robert Hudson has also joined the customer services management team.

Dale Fowler has been appointed managing director of Jarrow-based security company the Lewis Security Group. Having been commercial director/joint managing director for the past three years, Fowler takes on the role from company founder Chris Jackson, who becomes chairman. Between them, Fowler and Jackson have presided over a doubling in company turnover during the past three years.

Employee Internet management solutions specialist Websense has appointed Frank Coggrave as UK regional director. Frank has more than 20 years' experience in the international technology arena, working in various management roles for companies including Unicom, Jacada and the Legent Corporation. Frank is primarily tasked with growing the Websense customer database.

Derwent – manufacturer of infra-red lighting systems for CCTV applications – has further strengthened operations with two appointments to its sales team. Steve Devlin is the company's new UK field sales executive, while Stephanie Adamson takes on the role of internal sales executive. Both will play a key role in promoting the Cramlington-based company's REG number plate capture products, while Steve will also help end users looking to specify the Extreme CCTV range.

Doug Wood – previously director of North American sales – has been promoted to vice-president of North American sales at the HID Corporation. Brenton Scott joins as executive director of business development at the access control solutions concern. Brenton has been instrumental in developing partnerships with third party software and application providers to offer end users multiple options for their HID access systems.

Card Technologies & Services, the anti-card counterfeiting organisation, has appointed Christopher Sincock as vice-president of business development. Most recently, Sincock served as director of strategic planning and business development at Lenel Systems International (where he was responsible for developing strategic relationships with business partners worldwide).

Nicola Scott-Smith and Kevin Shergold, formerly with Ernst & Young's Fraud Investigation Division, have respectively been appointed senior associate and associate of the Risk Advisory Group's specialist Corporate Investigations Division.

Steve Neville has joined Bell Security as sales director of national accounts, based at the company's London Head Office.
