Best thing about your new job
Helping young people to get access to accommodation instead of becoming homeless
Biggest challenge so far?
Working with a young person who was always very abusive – verbally and physically – towards everyone. In time, the person was allocated a flat and on leaving the unit they thanked me for supporting them when they knew they’d been difficult, and for not giving up on them.
Favourite book
A Boy Called It by Dave Pelzer. It’s very emotional.
Favourite film
Lord of the Rings.
Favourite song
“With or Without You” by U2.
Hobbies
Horse riding and photography.
Housing situation
I own a home that I share with my sister.
If I was housing minister …
I’d enable more people to buy affordable homes.
