CCTV systems manufacturer Synectics has expanded its sales team with the appointment of David Aindow as IP video systems sales manager. In his new role Aindow – formerly with Baxall – will be responsible for assisting the company’s installer and specifier clients with technical queries based on the Synergy software control and modular digital recording systems.
Shaun Cutler – previously international marketing manager at Derwent Systems and Extreme CCTV – has been promoted to marketing director responsible for both brands. The move reflects Shaun’s developing role in helping to shape the future strategic direction of Derwent’s IR technologies for CCTV illumination.
OmniPerception, the leading specialist in computer vision and pattern recognition, has announced the appointment of Dr Kenneth Jonsson as principal research engineer within the company’s biometric business division. Kenneth will now be responsible for research and development in image processing and pattern recognition. He’ll also provide evaluation of fingerprint systems for integration with the organisation’s existing facial biometric technology.
Rochdale-based CCTV distributor the Network Video Centre (NVC) has appointed Jan Beetson divisional director of sales with overall responsibility for developing the NVC business throughout the UK. Jan joins NVC from Ultrak where, as managing director, she oversaw the company’s recent sale to Honeywell. Prior to her Ultrak role, Jan was UK sales manager for Baxall.
Already widely known and respected in the networks sector of the security industry, Katherine Bramwell has joined the sales team at Gardiner Security’s integrated systems division with specific responsibility for the north. Prior to joining Gardiner, Katherine spent five years working in internal and external sales for Minitran followed by a spell as channel manager at Ortronics.
The Miwa Lock Co has appointed Ted Kayama as its new general manager. Ted is now responsible for all of the company’s overseas sales and marketing activities. He’ll mainly be looking to continue brand building projects. Ted joins Miwa from Panasonic, where he was European sales manager.
Tim Goode has taken up the position of finance director on the Board at The Inkerman Group, the international risk assurance concern. Goode will advise and help direct Inkerman’s future business growth. He has been active in financial markets for the past 28 years, having served as chief executive of treasury and wholesale banking at the Halifax Group plc and group treasurer for the Royal Bank of Scotland Group.
Security support services concern the Certainty Group has appointed the ex-chief executive of Metronet – the consortium responsible for upgrading two thirds of the London Underground – as non-executive chairman. Rod Hoare MBE boasts a wealth of experience in managing and leading high profile service-oriented organisations, having been managing director of the Heathrow Express rail project.
Mercury Packaging has switched its focus to UK end users of banking and security products. Neil Titterington has secured a new future thanks to his post as sales manager for north east CCTV and security specialist 20:20 Vision Systems. Neil joins the firm from ADT Fire and Security, where he has been systems sales consultant for the past six years. Neil has worked in sales for over two decades. 20:20 Vision Systems specialises in all aspects of CCTV, access control remote monitoring and concierge systems for end users in the corporate office sector.
Specialist recruitment consultancy Reflex HR, first established back in 1992, has formed a new division offering recruitment solutions to the security industry. Graeme McIntyre is the consultant heading up the division, and will work alongside colleagues Hannah Tibble and Heather Dellar (both currently based within the company’s existing building management systems and integration division). Reflex HR’s general operations manager is Simon Lanaway.
