Davis Langdon expands

Davis Langdon’s Irish division Davis Langdon PKS has made three new appointments: Emma O’Brien has come on board as an associate and will head up the firm’s civil engineering department. The firm has also announced two new regional directors: Vincent Kane at its Dublin office and Andrew Langmaid, who will head up the firm’s new Cork office. Welshman Langmaid has moved from London where he was a partner and worked on projects for clients such as John Lewis and Hilton.

Back over the Irish Sea Davis Langdon’s new Sovereign Street office in Leeds has eight new recruits to help cope with the extra work:

They comprise Stuart Bethel, who has joined as senior project manager. Also joining the newly created project management team is Donna Harmson and Gareth Chambers, who joins as associate. On the cost management side, Japhet Simon has joined as a cost manager, David Drake has joined as a graduate cost manager, while Karl Codd and Wayne Cummings have been taken on as trainee cost managers. Maxine Boyce joins as partners secretary.

The firm was recently awarded major framework agreements from Leeds City Council and Marks & Spencer. The office has also been working on Clarence Dock development and a 180,000 sq ft office fit-out in Newcastle with GE.

T&T’s new regional director

Turner & Townsend has hired a new regional director for its South East Asian division. David Hancox, who formerly managed Hanscomb’s Abu Dhadi office, will also have a specific responsibility for T&T’s energy division. As part of this role Hancox will provide performance and benchmarking measurement information for major oil and gas operators such as BP, BHP Billiton and Shell. “My plan is to develop the business’ strengths in providing project controls, contract administration and management consultancy,” he said.

Wakemans adds senior QS

Property consultant Wakemans has strengthened its quantity surveying team in Birmingham with the appointment of Emma Bridgewood as senior quantity surveyor. She began her career at Silk and Frazier (now part of Faithful & Gould) in Edgbaston.
