PFI expert joins Concept
Project management company Concept has appointed David Lane as senior project manager in its PFI/PPP division. He will be working with local authorities on the government’s BSF (Building Schools for the Future) programme.
Lane joins from Mott MacDonald where he was lead adviser to Hull City and City of Sunderland Councils on their £200m and £100m BSF programmes. He also worked on a £400m BSF project in Bradford for E4L, a consortium comprising Interserve, Mott MacDonald and Barclays Equity.
Previous to that, Lane was a senior engineer on the Heathrow Express Rail Link for Balfour Beatty and bid manager for the £145m Channel Tunnel Rail Link contract tender for Skanska Construction.
WJY appoints M&E director
White Young Green has appointed Bill Ireland as its new M&E profession director. Ireland has over 18 years working in the field of sustainable design and innovation in the built environment. He was with Fulcrum Consulting for eight years as regional director before joining WYG.
His new role will see him championing innovation and sustainability in the UK and Ireland as well as providing guidance on important technical matters across the group, including aspects of health and safety where they affect design.
QS joins contractor
Ramparts Interior Contracts has appointed Chris Platt as assistant quantity surveyor.
Platt joins from Faithful and Gould and will be involved in both estimating and surveying at the firm’s Macclesfield office.
