F&G’s nine in the North

Faithful & Gould has attracted nine new people to its Newcastle and Stockton office in north east England, including six trainees. The recruits include Terry McGuinness, who joins the Newcastle office as its first safety and planning advisor.

David Farnaby has been appointed as a senior QS and will work on water schemes, while Peter Johnson will act as a senior surveyor in the property department – both will be based at the Stockton office. The six trainees are: Craig Boyle, Matthew Devlin, Craig Smallman, Scott Day, Rachael Dart and Brendan Duffy.

Heath Lambert adds director

Insurance broker Heath Lambert has appointed John Roberts as executive director at its construction division. He joins from Royal & Sun Alliance and will focus on the international construction market.

Berkeley hires Seath

Berkeley Consulting has appointed Colin Seath as associate. Seath, who joins from EC Harris, will have overall responsibility for the management of Berkeley’s Scottish regional office in Glasgow.

Planner receives doctorate

Davis Langdon partner John Connaughton has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Philosophy from the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT). The award is given in recognition of his “outstanding achievements as a strategist, innovator and urban planner”. Connaughton, who heads the firm’s management consulting team, is a former DIT graduate.

Willmott Dixon name winner

A QS graduate has been named as Trainee of the Year by her contracting employer Willmott Dixon. Hayley Bufton, 24, who studied at Westminster University, beat off 90 other management trainees to win the award, is currently working on a £2m new community project in Harrow, North London.
